The Academy class for 2009 has begun.

Please check back for future dates.

The Colonial Regional Police Department will be conducting the 2009 Citizen's Police Academy beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2009 through Wednesday, June 17, 2009.  Students will learn about Police History, Legal Issues, Judicial Systems, Crime Scene Processing, Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia, Traffic Enforcement and Crash Investigations,  Use of Force, the Police K-9 Unit, Gangs and tour the Northampton County Prison and Northampton County 911 Center.  A full day will be spent on the shooting range where  students will be taught gun safety and proper shooting techniques. Students will be invited to a "ride-along" with officers during their shifts to experience the day to day activities the officers encounter during their patrols.

Classes will be held every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm through 9:30pm at the Colonial Regional Police Department Headquarters.  Which is located at 248 Brodhead Road, Bethlehem.

Cursory background checks will be completed upon application and students living within the Colonial Regional Police Department jurisdiction will be accepted first. Class size is limited.  Students must be 18 years of age by April 1, 2009.
